I hope you had a fantastic time with family and friends.
One of the things that I discussed with my family over Thanksgiving was how thankful I was for this site. The opportunity to work on something I love and am passionate about has been a blessing like no other. In fact, as my wife and I discussed ProvoFireworks.com, as well as some of the other things I do in the community, we talked out the ability to use this site to help with some of my other passions here in Provo, Orem and the surrounding area.
I remember when I was 12 years old, and I was walking to the Boys and Girls Club, and an older couple (probably around my age) asked me if I could tell them where the food bank was. I had no idea, and while I was out of my element in knowing how to help them, the feeling in the pit of my stomach is something I remember to this day.
With the colder weather, the holiday season and the challenges our fellow Utah residents face, the Food Bank here in Provo can always use help. As a result, I have decided to allow people to pay for up to 10% of their order in canned food - with all cans collected being donated to the Community Action Services and Food Bank here in Provo.
How will this work? Very simple:
- Place your order as you normally would, and pay the full amount
- When your order is delivered, give the delivery driver as many cans of food to donate as you would like
- Each can will be valued at $1
- I will refund your Credit Card or PayPal payment for up to 10% of the value of your order, depending upon how many cans you donate
As an example, if your order is $52, and you donate 6 cans, I will refund you $5.20. If you donate 3 cans, I will refund you $3.
I really hope that you will take this opportunity to use this as a payment method this year. It is an excellent way of trying to remember others that may not be as fortunate as we are, while we ring in the New Year.
